10/23/2012 3:25:00 PM SEMCAC Fall food shelf concert Oct.28
On October 28 at 2 p.m., SEMCAC our local food shelf and assistance for those in need will have a fall food shelf concert fund raising event. "Our concerts are all Christian music," Event booster Dave Kohler said. "Our rule is that every song must be worthy of being presented to God in the church sanctuary."
He described the concert as a gathering of people from all over the county; a warm friendly happening filled with great Christian music and fellowship. "We have laughs, lots of hugs and time to renew friendships while enjoying refreshments after the concert." Kohler said.
All are welcome to attend.
"Over the years we have had people from every church in the county both as guests and as musical presenters."
"I have had several people tell me how much the concert has helped them in regaining their footing after life's painful challenges."
SEMCAC has also been facing challenges in meeting the needs of an increasing number of families that are not making it. For example, Marty Pogalz of SEMCAC reported that 131 families in Dodge Center are receiving food assistance with 423 signed up. Also, in the last year SEMCAC has helped families deal with car repairs, utilities, gas, and many other areas.
The concert is a wonderful way for the community to share with the "least of these" in Dodge County. Please come out and bring an offering this year. If you would like to participate as a musical talent, contact Audrey Erwin at 507-634-4350. The concert will be held at the Dodge Center Seventh-day Adventist Church, 410, 3rd Avenue SW, Dodge Center.
