Dodge Expo filling up fast

Registration for the Dodge County Home and Business Expo is running well ahead of schedule with 80% of the exhibitor booths already taken, Expo co-chair Larry Dobson said Monday. "We could be filled by the end of the month, this year," he said, "So anyone who wants to participate should get registered as soon as possible."

As usual, there will be door prizes of baskets prepared by the participating chambers of commerce and community clubs with items donated by their community businesses. The value of each of the baskets is at least $50 and usually more. "Exhibitors should start making arrangements to have the items on hand that they want to place in the baskets," Dobson said. "Many exhibitors also give away items at their booths and should make sure those items are ordered as well."

Activities at the Expo will begin at 8 a.m. with the Farmers Share Breakfast, which is always well attended. The menu will be similar to previous years and will be announced later. The Expo ends at 2 p.m.

The layout of the exhibits will be changed somewhat because of construction taking place at the school.

This will be the 15th annual Dodge County Expo. Each year, between 2,000 and 3,000 people attend the Expo where they can learn about a hundred or more businesses and organizations providing products, services and jobs in Dodge County.

The Expo takes place on Saturday, April 13 at Triton High School in Dodge Center and is sponsored by the chambers of commerce and community clubs representing the communities of Dodge Center, Hayfield, Kasson, West Concord, Mantorville and Claremont.
