It's back for another year.
Byron's businesses and organizations will come together for the second annual Byron Community Showcase Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The free expo-style event will be held at the Byron Middle School.
"It's a chance to see what we have to offer and to support our local businesses," said Barb Schriever, of First Alliance Credit Union and the chamber's vice president.
Twenty eight businesses and organizations have signed up for the extravaganza, with booths to feature everything from games to food samples.
Participants include everyone from The Bears Den to the Byron Pet Clinic.
Schriever said what makes the event worthwhile is the variety of businesses, from the established ones to the newcomers.
"There's something for everyone," she said.
At last year's showcase, the chamber held a drawing for a $700 travel voucher, which was won by Susan Holz. This year's prize is a $500 MasterCard.
Those in attendance will receive a card they will have to get stamped by all of the businesses at the showcase to be eligible, Schriever said. The cards will then be entered into the drawing that will be held at 12:30 p.m. The Byron Community Showcase was the brainchild of the chamber's marketing committee and inspired by the successful version held in Dodge Center.
