4/15/2014 1:25:00 PM Leonhardt finds new law enforcement home with Kasson Police Department

Kasson City Council, on Wednesday, April 9, unanimously approved the hiring of Mike Leonhardt as a part-time Kasson Police Department patrol officer.
"We are happy, pleased and excited to have him on board," said Police Chief Ken Schuck. "We are very happy to have an officer with his experience join our department." He added, Leonhardt brings 26-years of law enforcement experience to the department and due to his past employment with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office he is familiar with the Kasson Police Department and the residents of Kasson.
"He knows everyone, so I know that he is a great fit for our department."
The open position was created by patrol officer Randy Lavoie's request for a leave of absence for the remainder of 2014. Officer Lavoie requested the leave because he is currently busy with his full-time position at another agency.
Mike Leonhardt, said he is excited to get started patrolling again. "The department has a great bunch of guys that I've known for a long time," Leonhardt said. "I'm happy to be apart of the Kasson Police Department.
