6/8/2014 1:32:00 PM Saturday morning burglary in progress discovered Dodge County
At approximately 9:10 AM this morning, June 7, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a call of a burglary in progress on 710 Street in the Southeast part of Dodge County. The property owner drove into the residence and found a vehicle in the yard. Two people then ran from the house towards a field and two other people got into the car and left the residence. The car drove at a high rate of speed towards Olmsted County and responding officers were unable to locate it.
Officers from Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Kasson Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter around the area where the two individuals ran from the house. K-9 officers searched the area and were unable to locate the suspects. As officers continued to search the area, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a phone call from a news reporter from KTTC television, letting us know that there was a male and a female walking on the road south of Rock Dell in Olmsted County. The reporter kept an eye on the two suspects until officers were able to make contact with the male and female.
The male and female were taken into custody and transported to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office where they were questioned. The case is still under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office. No other information is available at this time.
