By Tara Lindquist
At about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, the manager of Dairy Queen reported being robbed while walking home from the Dodge County Country Club.
According the report Cheyenne Johnson of Dodge Center told Dodge County Deputy Jeff Brion he had worked that evening, was at the country club and had three beers. At approximately 10:35 he was walking eastbound on County Highway 34 into Dodge Center when he heard a vehicle approaching him from behind. The vehicle was described as a small 'Corsica looking" two-door vehicle and two white males over average height and weight got out of the vehicle's backseat. The report states Johnson said the passenger seat had to be folded forward for both to get out and there was a female driving.
Johnson told the deputy the two males jumped out and said, 'hey man what's up? Where's the deposit?" Johnson said he told the suspects he did not have it, he was then thrown to the ground and held down while they went through his pockets and wallet. He reportedly told the deputy one male grabbed his wallet and went through it while he was on the ground. Johnson reported that he had $300 taken from him in cash, two 100-dollar bills and five 20-dollar bills.
