TRITON ISD NO. 2125 - SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2012 - 6:01 P.M.

TRITON HIGH SCHOOL - DODGE CENTER, MN

-Meeting Proceedings-

Chair Henslin called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Those members present: Lloyd Henslin, Jr., Terry Selthun, Bryce Kleinwort, Jon Streiff, Dale Jensen and Duane Bartel; late arrival: Chad Johnson; absent: none. Also present: Superintendent Robert Kelly, Principal Brett Joyce, Principal Nancy Stucky, Student Council Representative Amber Miosi, Deb Meeker, Patty Braeger, Judy Lewis, Kim Swanson, Bethany Buus and Larry Dobson.

Chair Henslin asked for a moment of silence in honor of the Newtown victims.

Chair Henslin welcomed Student Council Representative Amber Miosi.

Bartel/Streiff to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Kleinwort/Jensen to approve the consent agenda including the November 13, 2012 special meeting minutes and the November 19, 2012 regular meeting minutes; claims and bills; financial report; open enrollment/nonresident agreements for students #121712A , #121712B, #121712C, #121712D, #121712E, #121712F, #121712G , #121712H , #121712I and #121712J; and contract for Susan Spatenka as .5 FTE Educational Assistant. Motion carried unanimously. (Chad Johnson arrived)

Superintendent Kelly explained the Truth in Taxation information, levy certification and budget.

Bartel/Jensen motioned to approve the final 2012 payable 2013 levy certification for $2,285,365.20. Motion carried unanimously.

Teacher Kim Swanson was present to request approval for students to attend Wolf Ridge ELC in January 2014.

Selthun/Johnson motioned to approve students to attend the Wolf Ridge ELC trip in January 2014. Motion carried unanimously.

After discussion, Jensen/Selthun approved the construction update for the art room project. Motion carried unanimously.

Superintendent Robert Kelly's report:

• Banking

• MSBA Conference

• Pay applications

• MASA Legislative Forum

• District Office closed over holidays

• CTG - hire technology help for 20 hours a week

• Bus drop off

• Southeast Service Cooperative ballots

Director Jensen discussed roller skating costs.

Chair Henslin reported on the MSBA Delegate Assembly Conference that he attended.

Johnson/Jensen motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
