SUMMARY COUNCIL MINUTES

December 10, 2012

A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dodge Center, Minnesota was held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

Council members: Bill Ketchum, Gary Trelstad, Paul Blaisdell, Matthew Dickie, Cathy Skogen

City staff: Lee Mattson, Linda Nagel.

Others: Dale Wellik, Larry Dobson, Amy Van Raam, Ruth Greenslade, Joe Wheeler, Karen DuCharme

A public hearing was held for the 2013 Budget and Levy.

Ruth Greenslade of the Dodge County Public Health Department gave a presentation on Public Health Emergency Preparedness.

Joe Wheeler, Executive Director of SEMMCHRA, presented a proposal to grant SEMMCHRA levy authority to tax and provide housing services in Dodge Center.

The Council acted as follows:

• Approved continuing Dan Carstenson's employment with the Maintenance Department as a temporary employee with benefits;

• Approved an increase in the Fire Department Captain's pay for additional duties performed;

• Discussed a recent shooting incident and use of the Fire Hall by law enforcement;

• Approved a resolution adopting the 2013 Levy and Budget, a resolution fixing rates and charges for municipal utilities, and a resolution certifying delinquent utility charges to the County Auditor;

• Approved the salary plan as presented;

• Approved the PeopleService Contract;

• Authorized staff to proceed with completion of the Fire Protection Contracts;

• Approved Smith Schafer to conduct the 2012 audit;

• Approved staff to negotiate a renewal of the Airport Ag Lease with current lessee;

• Approved committee reappointments: Tracy Timmerman to EDA, Art Hall to Planning and Zoning, Morgan Hakomaki-Freyholtz and Jayne Boeding to the Library Board.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m
