School Board Minutes
Monday, September 16, 2013-5:30 p.m.
Site: Byron High School Multipurpose/Board Room
Members present: Matt Prigge, Paul Daley, Faith Hollasch, Chris Douglas, Peggy Harris, Peggy Morris, Tessa Olive and Student Council Representative Justine Schneider. Member absent: None. Superintendent Jeffrey S. Elstad was also present
Andrew Higgins asked the board to consider a variance to allow students in the Wynnsong second subdivision area to be bused to and from school until a continuous walking path can be put in place. Chair Prigge thanked him for bringing this to the board and stated that this item will be discussed further at the October board meeting.
Approve consent agenda including: communications; August 19, 2013 minutes; treasurer's report; wire transfers totaling $1,068,359.85; claims and bills; donations from United Way, Jim Vold, Resident payroll deduction, Enstroms, Great American, Faith and Troy Hollasch; open enrollment/nonresident agreements; girls basketball fundraiser; lane changes for John Austinson, Josh Bernards, Gretchen DelBianco, Rosemary Heim and Chad Rolandson contingent upon meeting all criteria as outlined in the Master Agreement; contracts and letters of assignments as presented; FY 14 Title I and Title IIA for 2013-2014 school year; District Student Report Card 2012-2013
Donita Stepan presented an overview of data assessment and how our classroom instruction is going at Byron Public Schools.
Ratified the 2013-2014/2014-2015 Master Agreement
Approved identified traffic hazards
Approved maximum proposed property tax levy 2013 Payable 2014
Approved recommendation to proceed with bond resolution preparation for a pre-K-2 building that would be built on the site of the present elementary building
Approved all day every day kindergarten beginning in the 2014-2015 school year
Adjourned meeting at 7:01 p.m.
