A memorial open house for David Lowell Elliott will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Dibble Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St., Kasson, MN.
David, 84, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Bradford House in Livingston, Texas.
David Lowell Elliott was born February 2, 1930, the son of Minnie and James Elliott. David spent most of his life in the Kasson/Hayfield area, graduating from Kasson High School in 1948. On August 4, 1950, he married Joyce Marlene Fredrickson. Their union produced a son, Craig.
David was a member of the Minnesota Army national Guard and was called to active duty in 1950. He was a member of the Dodge Center American Legion. He worked with his father in the carpentry business until his father's death. In the early 60′s, he started Elliott Construction focusing on dirt work such as digging basements, farm tiling, and water and sewer projects. He retired in 1992.
He enjoyed working with wood and especially enjoyed his Welsh ponies, raising and training several matched teams of his beautiful sorrel ponies.
David is survived by his son, Craig (Carol) Elliott of LeRoy, MN, his very special friend, Joyce Schmadeke of Livingston, TX, three nieces and three nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur Elliott and his wife, Joyce.
