Funeral services for Ludie Muriel Frey of Moreauville, La. and formerly of Byron, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moreauville. Frey, 76, passed away in Alexandria, La. on Monday, Oct. 8. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Frey; parents, Lafayette and Zelma Green; and brother, Leland Green. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Dupuis of Moreauville; son David Frey of Minneapolis; grandsons Travis Caldwell of Livingston, La. and Waylon Dupuis of Moreauville, La.; granddaughters Tabitha Dupuis of Simmesport, La. and Ali Gaspard of Moreauville, La; great-grandchildren Aaron Caldwell of Livingston, La. and Tucker Dupuis of Moreauville, La.; sister Joan Gens of Norwood, La.; borther Lynn Green of Cloverdale, Ind.; and a host of loving nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends from Lousiana and Minnesota.
Ludie was a long-time member of East St. Olaf Lutheran Church before moving to Lousiana in late 2011. She lived in Byron for more than 50 years. She was an active member of WELCA; Circle 4; one of the founders of Teens Living for Christ youth group; a Sunday School teacher; St. Olaf Heritage Association member; church deacon on the East St. Olaf Church Council; former choir member; and a member of the altar guild.
She was also an active member of the Bible Study Fellowship in Rochester. She will be dearly missed by her Neighborhood Coffee Group and her church family at East St. Olaf.
A memorial service will be held in the near future at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell.
