Hayfield's basketball programs held their 11th Annual Staff vs Varsity fundraiser on Tuesday, November 20.  The girls' varsity vs the women's staff started at 6 pm with the boys' varsity vs the men's staff following shortly after.  The dance team performed between the games and there was a halftime shootout during the boys' game.  All attendees had their name put in a drawing for a chance at prizes which were given out throughout the evening.  It's such a fun event for the students and the participants; both staff and varsity players.  The girls' game was not as competitive as the boys' game.

There was lots of laughing and smiling going on throughout the game, making it hard to be serious. In the second half, the women staffers had all their players on the court. Half of the women were on defense and the other half on offense. It helped bring their score closer to the varsity girls' score but not enough to win.

The men's staff beat the varsity team 55-49 but their team was a little more stacked with experience and youth with players such as high school and Winona State standout David Johnson, alumni Kasey Krekling and Keefe Zelinske. Boys basketball coaches Chris Pack and John Kruger also helped their team to a victory. It wasn't about winning though. It was about having fun, entertaining the fans and raising money for their basketball program.
