On Saturday, November 2nd the South East (West) conference high school bowling teams held their conference tournament at Xtreme Bowl, at Treasure Island casino, near Red Wing. The conference is composed of teams from Mayo, Century, and John Marshall of Rochester, Stewartville, Austin, Hayfield, Byron-Kasson/Mantorville-Triton, and Red Wing. Each team in the conference bowls a Baker style type of competition every Saturday starting in early September.
Byron-Kasson/Mantorville-Triton had three teams competing this year; one Varsity and two Junior Varsity teams called BKM-Black and BKM-Blue. Since Red Wing did not have a JV team this year and BKM had 18 bowlers participating, BKM was allowed two JV teams in the conference. BKM-Black team won the conference tournament by defeating the JV teams of Hayfield, Mayo and Century. With these wins, the BKM-Black JV team will compete in the state competition being held on Sunday, December 8th at Midway Bowl in St. Paul. The members of BKM-Black advancing to State are: Brandon Coleman, Keyara Gifford, Citorri ("Tori") Gowlland, Christina Grev, Cassandra ("Cassie") Hough and Trace Sackett. They are coached by Corey Schlenker.

Congratulations to the BKM-Black team on their tournament win and good luck at the State Tournament!
